Welcome from the Conference Committee!
Over the summer, the University of California, Merced and the University of the Pacific joined forces to co-host the Western Regional Conference! We are excited that you have chosen to join us for this exciting event. The conference planning committee has been working hard in the anticipation of your arrival. We have lined up many outstanding speakers, programs and an amazing headline act for you to enjoy while you are with us.
LGBTQIA life has grown and enhanced over the last few decades and we are proud of our progress. While LGBTQIA leaders have come together for many years, our committee felt it was important to bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members from the western United States. By coming together, we hope that you will have a chance to learn from each other, develop strong friendships and social networks, and learn how you can be an active leader within your community and institution.
Ultimately, it is you who will make the conference a success. We challenge you to take full advantage of the conference and learn who you can make a difference.
As a result of participating in this conference, participants will:
- Engage thoughtfully and meaningfully in educational sessions designed to enhance their interpersonal and social development.
- Network in ways that cultivate friendships and relationships with other students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members.
- Strengthen their identity and have pride for being members of the LGBTQIA community.
- Learn about opportunities for involvement and social activism in order to become active leaders on their campuses and in their communities.
